Project Description

Abilonino Training College

Uganda

Abilonino Community Polytechnic Instructors College (CPIC) is situated in an isolated and relatively deprived rural area in Northern Uganda.  The master plan provides for a main entrance square surrounded by the library, administration and multipurpose hall buildings all of which present a slightly grander and more recognisably civic impression. Once passed these buildings into the heart of the college, the buildings take on a more modest scale of a village nature.  Outdoor rooms are configured with open shaded canopies with partial perforated walls. They are organised as safe social clusters around common courtyards. Local materials will be utilised wherever possible.
