Project Description

Carroll and Kinsella Motors

Churchtown, Dublin

Located on the Lower Churchtown Road in the south side suburbs of Dublin, Carroll and Kinsella Motors is a very successful motor dealer and car service facility that has operated since the early 1970s. Like many car dealerships, the business started as a petrol station with a small associated motor sales and service. With the growth of the motor trade, the petrol pumps were removed in the early 1990s making the site exclusively a sales and service facility.

In the early 2000s, Toyota Ireland required their dealers to upgrade their premises to meet new industry standards. In the case of Carroll and Kinsella, this required a larger showroom and more luxurious customer lounge area.

The original single storey façade was replaced with new two-storey high planar capped by a signage fascia. The showroom space was enlarged by extending out into the forecourt. The first floor offices were refurbished and a new board room added. The result was to give the building a greater presence on the road and a more attractive environment for customers and staff.
